How soon will i return with my compensation check?
I filed my 2006 tax return on March 21st. 3 weeks after I call the automated line to check on that year and it said I will received my refund as on 4/21/08, which is tomorrow. today I check the communication and had a letter stating that the IRS can not guarantee direct deposit which is what I request for chronological year tax and that I will receive my refund surrounded by the mail within 3 weeks. Can anybody convey me If it would really take 3 weeks. The letter is dated for 4/21/08. Have anyone received this type of message before. Is the 3 weeks just a time frame they bequeath you and since my check was so go direct depsoit will it print through the subsequent check run. Anybody been in this situation up to that time?

Answers: It would appear that you made a mistake when entering the routing or account number. You are lucky that it was an incorrect number. If it be a valid number, but not yours you would never see the money. The IRS would consider it a gift from you to that person. In this bag they seem to be telling you that they are going to dispatch a paper check to your last particular address. And three to four weeks is about the norm.
Most likely you fat-fingered the routing number or description number when you put them on your tax return. When that happens, the deposit bounces at the dune (or in the IRS system if the routing number is invalid) and they then process your discount for payment by check. 3 to 4 weeks additional is adjectives when this happens. If it was for a prior year and not the current 2007, you'll probably procure a check in the mail for that reimbursement. Sounds like that's what they are telling you. It could possibly come sooner than they articulate - but since you waited a whole year, what's the urgency?
