Economic Stimulus giving BS?

Ok, so why is it that mainstream media (TV AND INTERNET) made it appear like as long as you were single and file a 2007 return, you would get back AT LEAST $600? I basically read on the IRS website that most are getting back only $300. I did the pocket money calculator and it said $600 approximately, but the IRS website says "Individual with AGI is $12,000, federal income import tax liability is $325.
Individual rebate is $325"

Who else agrees that they hyped this up WAY too much? And that ALOT of people are going to be upset when they realize they aren't getting back as much as be announced in the beginning of adjectives of this hoopla?

Answers:    I agree with you...the media have done a huge disservice to the american people by providing half truths and incorrect information. They did it beside the timing of the rebates too...they stated that the rebates would be going out rash, implying they would ALL be going out early and that wasn't true any. The majority of people will still get their payments on the afternoon the IRS originally set. I feel like they really set those up to be disapointed. And as for the administration...who cares how much they are giving us if they aren't going to do anything roughly gas & food prices...suspend the gas tax for the summer so the rebates can in fact do some good!
I never heard we will adjectives get $600. Not every person that qualify will receive $600. In fact more will receive less than that. The amount you'll receive will be base on your 2007 income tax 1040 form. You must have made at most minuscule $3000 in earned income to qualify for the rebate.

If your charge liability was less than $300, you and your spouse (if you're married and file jointly) will each receive $300. If it was between $300 and $600, you'll receive that amount. If it be more than $600, you'll each get $600. You'll receive $300 for respectively qualifying child.
First off, not a soul is getting anything "back"! This is an advance on a 2008 tax credit. Second sour, if you are getting excited over $600 then you have much bigger issues at play. Don't find me wrong, I will take free money any day of the week, but if it does or does not come, I will not be heart broken. Anyone who is "upset" more or less $300 of free money is a fool! Take what you get and be merry!
Cheers I already recieved mine and expected to get more,But im not complaining!Every lil bit help in my situation! Just be thankful!
Why not be appreciative that we get something. And be patient and lurk for yours. Bet you won't post when you do get and get $600. Well, hubby and I don't attain anything if that makes you feel any better.
You weren't listen, The official statements, and most media reports, said "UP TO" $600. Some of the medium outlets screwed it up and just said 600/1200 because THEY weren't listening or attracted. It was announced accurately up front, it's just abundantly of people heard what they required to hear.

Anyone who got the letter the IRS sent out explaining it and really read it would own seen the accurate info.

And yes, now they'll be adjectives p.o.'d because they misunderstood and now find out they were wrong, and aren't getting as much as they expect even though they ARE getting a pile of free money.
