Does anybody know! Do you get hold of the extra stimulus carton money if you didn't claim child as dependent but EIC?
I did not get to claim my daughter on my taxes this year as a dependent but I did get to claim her on EIC b/c she lives near me more out of the year and I am her primary custodial parent for the majority of the year although we share joint custody.
My ex husband claims he did not claim her as a dependent either but who know if he is telling the truth I did not know for sure.
Please serious answers only if you know the answer 10 points! Thanks!
Answers: you should carry it for yourself but you won't get the extra $300 for the child
I am not sure about this, if she wasnt anywhere on ur levy form, then the IRS wont get that info to process it as such.
check the calculator on IRS . gov to see how much you should be unloading..my guess is that you wont get that 300.00 for the child since you didnt claim her as a dependent.
I don't know for sure, but judging by the info we adjectives got in the letters, I would say no. The $300 credit is if you claimed a dependent. EIC is just an secondary credit stating you meet certain criteria (i.e. made x amount of money, be a childs primary provider for x amount of months, etc.).
I think you're out of luck. Sorry.
how are you able to claim her on EIC, but not as a dependent? Is that even allowed? Did you in reality get your refund nonetheless and that was approved by the IRS? - You could file an amended return and try and claim her - if he already did, the IRS will agree to you know No, you only get the extra for a child claimed as a dependent. Whether he claimed her or not, you won't attain the extra for her. If he did claim her, he would, otherwise nobody would.
