Do dependents who retribution taxes qualify for stimulus export tax rebate?
Okay, i keep seeing that if your younger than 17 on 12-31-07 my parents would get the 300 for them claiming me. Well i be 17 at that time of 12-31-07 and i filed my taxes made more than 3,000 so do my parents still get the money or do I? or i plan am i eligable for the rebate?
Answers: The economic stimulus tax rebate is not applicable to anyone who is claimed as a depedent on someone else's return. However, your parents may be eligible to receive further stimulus money as a result of claiming you as a dependent.
To calculate the stimulus amount you will receive (or that of your parents), use the following IRS calculator:

No, dependents will not get the rebate. Also parents will not win extra for the dependent who is not under 17 in 2007.
They may carry next years if they file 2008 return as non-dependent:
Those who did not take full tax rebate this year, will get remaining money surrounded by 2009 when they file their 2008 return and qualify.

In this situation, nobody will get anything. Dependents are not eligible for the rebate regardless of their tax liability or income. And parents to not get the $300 "kicker" for children who are 17 or elder as of Dec 31, 2007. Sorry, but that's the way that the law be written. It's been pretty clear on the IRS website, on this board, and i printed materials that dependents are NOT eligible for a stimulus payment. Since you be 17 by 12/31/07, your parents don't get extra for you either.
No, you nor your parents will catch anything for you being 17 at the end of the year.
