Answers:    Here's a few warnings the IRS have emailed me regarding scam. The first one regards identity pilfering.
Be careful when choosing a levy preparer

If you do not prepare your own return, be careful surrounded by choosing your tax preparer - as practical as you would in choosing a doctor or a legal representative. Remember: The tax preparer you select will hold access to your personal financial records. Ask your friends and coworkers to recommend a preparer they know and trust. Avoid preparers who claim they can come by larger refunds than other preparers, or who guarantee results or remains fees on a percentage of the amount of the refund.

Contact the Federal Trade commission:

The FederalTrade Commission maintains a database of identity thieving cases used by law enforcement agencies for investigations. The FTC is the front government agency for information give or take a few identity theft.
Call the FTC identity raid hotline at 1-877-438-4338.

The Federal Trade Commission will do nothing to prosecute your travel case. Look up an enrolled agent on the National Association of Enrolled Agents website. Click on "find an enrol agent". Type in your city, town, State or closure. Enrolled agents are professional and have power of attorney beside the IRS. An enrolled agent may know how to receive you out of this mess, so it is likely to be worth the expense. So, so sorry that you are going through this. Identity nicking is very adjectives. When I ran a duty practice {passed the EA test}, I told all my clients never to guard online, buy online, never give out your SS# nor credit card #'s. Thus far, I own learned on no identity being stolen through file through an IRS approved secured site or a State secured website. However, as one of the IRS bulletins warns, manufacture sure you are actually on the IRS website. TaxAct is one of the IRS approved companies for doing your income taxes online. Block owns that one. The IRS should remove TaxAct. Now you know not to dance to block for anything and to warn others, as I own.
OK, get a grip. No one should be file your taxes except yourself. So take charge. All this delegate and giving out personal information allows your identity to be stolen. And ranting and raving and not having the complete story solves NOTHING.

Not satisfactory info. Was your grandmother filing you as a dependent and some one else already claimed you? Were you file a dependent's return? You need to find out exactly what this error message said. That is NOT what the IRS say when rejecting a return. Are you self-supporting--few college students are.

When some one goes to record a return and it is rejected because that person be already used for the same purpose, the instrument to fix it is to print out return and submit it by mail to the IRS beside a cover letter explaing the situation. Takes several weeks, but they're pretty well brought-up at it if you can clearly and concisely (not like above) explain the situation.

And NO, they mostly will not tell you who file them, and you don't have adequate money or energy to sue them anyway. Most tariff preparation firms see SS cards and ID when preparing tax returns, unquestionably photo ID before hand over checks.
first thing to do is check your credit

to be sure that you don't enjoy accounts or debts listed that aren't yours.

Then phone call the IRS and find out what you should do about file. They can have your check sent to you instead of whoever file, if you have one coming.

Last, contact HR Block. Let them know you'd resembling to come in and obtain a copy of your return, but that you don't remember the office where on earth you filed. Go near, get a copy of the return. It may own information such as a bank picture or address to send the compensation check. This is your best bet for a lead. Then agree to HR Block know that they have a problem.
File a broadsheet tax return on your own beside an explanation attached and let IRS sort it out.
