Ebay items bought and later custom's charges added on via a file from post organization?!?! Advice Required Plz?
I ordered some items on ebay from USA to UK. I received a entry through the door from post department motto I enjoy to pay envelope lb11 to the post organization (due customs)!
Why does this take place? I haven't hear final from the wholesaler all the same (who is lovely) but I'm guessing she have written "goods" on the collection .. as defiant "gift" as I believe this can bring folks into trouble (so my comrade told me)!?!? Do customs freshly chaotically check some parcels and if so would this be done at USA or UK? The commodities equal $40 and would retail within the UK for lb60..so it's not even over the amount that a Uk resisident can spend whilst contained by USA. That amount I deliberate is approx lb120? Any philosophy.. what should I do if I want to debate this? Why does this appear? Has it happen to you? Any minister to would be much appreciated. Thankyou:-)

I did certainly nought, and through my own business purchases cultured long ago in that's other going to be a duty charge if the item's immense adequate and they speak about the truth.
Most "commercial" seller don't want to find into trouble, and emphasize the pro of the items right on the packing slip (usually found in an envolope tape to the pack.)
I've come to expect these charges, and realize at hand's usually nought we can do roughly them. Smaller packages within envolopes from private seller usually avoid duty charges.
In the appendage, if I get a "rare" product out of stock here (often the case) or I still land the product surrounded by my home for a lower price than if I bought it contained by a store, I consider it a win. And thats be the grip every time.

Unfortunately, you enjoy to settle up custom duties if the merchant put within "goods" and not "endowment."
Some seller certainly don't mind labeling the items in the custom form as payment, but I know of frequent seller who wouldn't do that because they lately don't want to slouch.
Next time when you buy an item from a US ebay peddler, you can probably negotiate next to them if they are prepared to convey the item as a payment so you will not be charged near customs import tax. But don't expect adjectives seller to agree as copious will not do it.
If stock equal more than $30/lb18 next customs charges are added unless the sender grades the collection as a 'offering' on the customs form.
Customs are in somebody`s debt to collect duty - you are indebted to foot it if you want the merchandise. You can rebuff to settle up and the products will be confiscated - but you own no recourse to return with a compensation as the street trader is not responsible for UK duty.
Calling an item a offering when it have be bought is fraud and is liable to result surrounded by the retailer anyone prosecuted (Governments are jolly to co-operate on this).
You visit the US and getting duty free (so to speak) is entirely different to import (which is what you are doing)

Hi, The US have customs too on items we decree from outside the US...basically as every other country does..they hold to craft money somehow. :) I would ask the customs clerk why if the packet does read out offering on it. I other flaw mine Other: Ebay...I hold no desire to distort customs forms, they are checking them more cautiously presently and as a Seller better be risk-free than sorry. I do consent to adjectives my worldwide bidders know this ahead of time. Any duties/taxes/customs are to be rewarded for by the wholesaler.
If the roll is discoloured bequest request for information the clerk at the customs bureau. They may hold made a mistake, it happen. If they haven't you may want to ask what the rule is on custom taxes so you will know contained by the adjectives.
