If I figure out correctly, you want to database an amended return. (1040x) because someone else claimed you as a dependent. It's not too belated to database an amended return.
You will folder the amended return, and probably end up oweing levy. There will be some penalty on the tariff, but it shouldn't be too much. It's better to entrap it presently, and 'stop the clock' on the interest than to hang around for the IRS to capture it surrounded by an audit.
I hope that help.
Your request for information does not manufacture sense. This is what I regard as you said: Someone told you that they be going to folder your taxes for you, but you didn't know so you file your own taxes. The soul who said that will wallet taxes for you also did your taxes. Now, you want to know if you can wallet your taxes yourself.
As stated above, seem similar to you've already file for taxes. Why would you have need of to do it again? On the other foot, it's too slowly to profile for taxes if you haven't done it surrounded by April. If you file for an extension, after it's okay. If you didn't profile for an extension, you can still record your taxes, but you'll be charged for a cost levy.
Are you a dependent of your parents? Or married and file a reciprocated return? If you are on your own, nobody else should know how to claim you and folder a return for you. You should contact the IRS, 1-8OO-829-1040, if you are on your own to find out whether or not they enjoy a return file for you. If they do, and you didn't directory it, after you may be the subject of identity break-in. If nobody have file a return for you, no it is not too slowly to profile a return. You enjoy till October 16, to electronically database a return. I would contact the IRS right away though. Who be it though that told you that someone else have file a return for you? I would yak to them first past discussion to anyone else to catch this concern straight.
if you file an extension, you own until 10/15/07. If not, you missed the dealdine but can still report, and should record.
