I know you can discount IRA from your taxes, but will it increase your tariff discount if you recompense your IRA?

I mean suppose the gov. have deducted taxes from your salary, but they actually enjoy to give you a small settlement, if you get an IRA will it increase the size of the return?

Answers:    A contribution to a traditional IRA reduces your AGI... If you already own a small refund... A contribution to a traditional IRA will increase your compensation. If you are in the 25% bracket. A $1000 contribution will increase your reimbursement by $250.

You have until April 15th to net a 2007 contribution.

Edit: YES, it will increase your refund.
a traditional IRA will just be an adjustment to your income
