IRS wishes copies of a NYS toll return for 2004?
I didnt profile my taxes for 2004, so when I have my taxes done within 2006, I asked them(Liberty Tax Service) to do my 04 & 05 taxes. Now I get a warrant from NYS and they want a copy of 2004's excise return. I contacted the due preparer and told them I call for a copy of my NYS return for 04. They looked for it and told me I didnt record NYS contained by 04! WTF I payed this preparer to do my taxes for 04 and 05. I own never done my own taxes and do not evoke unfolding them not to directory my NYS taxes, why would i do that? So, in a minute NY wishes a copy of this return and my preparer say that they didnt do one for 04. What the hell? Why they didn't do it is beyond me. Can I hold them responsable somehow? Dont they hold to enjoy something in writing that say i dont want to folder for NYS duty?

If NY is resembling most states, you can purloin a copy of your federal return and verbs most of the numbers to the state form. Give it a try. You should know how to win state levy forms on column.
Unfortunately for you it is YOUR responsibility to ensure your tariff returns are file. You may be capable of take them to FILE it for you for free, BUT the taxes due and penalty etc are your problem..
Sorry, but YOU are responsible for the preparation and file of your return. If they didn't prepare one, YOU have to know that reality as you never received a copy from them or signed the copies to be file (or the paperwork for e-filing).
WTF is YOU aren't resting on YOUR finances. You own ONLY yourself to blame for that.
Do you enjoy any type of acceptance or paperwork stating they did the '04 taxes for you? You should save copies of that type of paperwork for up to ten years.
