Ok so, i go a work recently and i be under the outline i never had to spread out a w9 because they said they would do that starting NEXT YEAR, so i was close to alright cool. however, just lately they said that i need to imbue out a w9 so i can claim my own taxes next year, capably ok, but they completly forgot and unless i remind them, theres no way they will remember any. so my question is...IF i dont ask for one, and never crawl out a w9, and still get salaried, and next year dont claim my taxes, how will the IRS in a minute? I will be cashing out all my checks, so i dont see why i stipulation to fill one out? i comprehend if i DO SIGN a w9 and DONT claim my taxes dats "illegal" but if i never even SIGN a W9, how in the world can i be held guilty of anything, right? plz tutor me.
Thanks PS. i dont even make more next a $1000 a month
Answers: How can you be guilty of anything? You would be guilty of tax evasion if you don't report the income. There are a quantity of ways you can get caught, and would be surrounded by some pretty serious trouble if you are.
In theory, they aren't supposed to money you until you give them the signed W-9 form but apparently somebody missed that.
First you obligation to understand what a W9 is intended to do.
A W9 is a request for an taxpayers identification number, it is in general used with an investment or a contract laborer.
If you certainly were hired as an hand...then you should own filed a W4. And, the company should hold had that formerly you ever started work. Yes, there is a fine for them not doing this. However, that doesn't be determined that you don't have to report that income.
I am going to assume that the company have someone that knows what they are doing...and they in actuality need a W9. If you don't provide that information next they are required to withhold at least 20% import tax from any money paid to you.
Now how the IRS will know...if they request a W9 they intend on file a 1099 for the amount they paid you. If they can show the request for a W9 and you refuse...they don't even get fined the $50 for not including your SS#. And, after it becomes your problem.
According to the tariff laws you don't enjoy an option of not signing a W9 and providing this information. The individual option you own is not entering into the transaction.
Hope this helps.
