Australian Tax Return?
Situation is I'm Australian citizen by birth.
I moved on a working holiday to Ireland in December 2006.
I am immediately doing my tariff return for the 2006/07 Financial Year.
When i acquire to the division where on earth it asks "Are you an Australian resident for levy purposes" do i answer "yes" or "part of the pack resident of 6 months"??
I would've assumed the answer is yes, but my dad reckon I have need of to answer a constituent resident of 6 months. There is little to no information on the ATO web-site on this concern.
Answers:
If you're freshly on a working holiday and haven't moved to Ireland on a thoughtful of ongoing spring next you are still an "Australian resident for levy purposes" while you are overseas. And you must report your worldwide income in your levy return. That 6 month quantity resident article only just applies to immigrant, not at adjectives to your circumstances.
