I have 3 different W-2's from MD, KS, and VA and I'm not sure if i'm suppose to report for all three or lately the main one. I tried file for KS first but they were going to nick taxes for almost more then I in fact made just working nearby for three months!
Please help, I'm trying to profile threw TurboTax but I really think I may call for to see an accountant!!

Answers:    Its a little bit trickier than by ToYsTeMp suggests. You don't mention where on earth you live so you can only bring a general answer here.

For your federal return its confident. You add them adjectives up together.
Unless you received two w-2s from the same employer for work perform in multiple states. Then you involve to find out if one W-2 (for your home state) lists adjectives federal income in Box one and lone lists the income earn in the state contained by the box for state wages.
Your state returns does depend on many factor:

Let's say you be a resident of MD and had a undertaking in VA, but also worked surrounded by KS while in conservatory.

In this case, you would stipulation to file a KS non resident return and a VA non resident return. On both of these returns, you would solitary report the income earned surrounded by those states (i.e. the KS return would only hold KS income. The VA return would only own VA income) Your MD return would have ALL your income reported on it (MD, VA and KS.) but you would achieve a credit on your MD return for taxes paid to VA and KS.

Where it can return with trickier still is when you move from one state to another. For example if you lived in Virginia and moved to Maryland and kept duplicate employer in Maryland. Then you hold to file the Maryland return as both a resident and non-resident.

If you are not sure of how to record, it would be best if you find a qualified tax professional that know how to file multiple state
returns preferably within one of the states you lived/worked in.

I hold done these kinds of returns, but not for these states. I enjoy done MA, CT, RI, NY, CA, OH and others.
yes you'll have to directory for all 3 states you earn an income in. and when you do you'll report as
one of the few below
resident
non resident
part year resident
lone you could answer those questions.
once your done doing your taxes hold them into hrblock they can look them over for you and make sure you did them correctly until that time sending them off
You will involve to file within multiple states + the federal.
For MD, KS and VA you will need to report state taxes.

Tax software or online tax services can touch multiple states, if you do with accountant you will wages for each state form.
