I did my taxes to the best of my qualifications and tried my hardest to subtract what I could and not discount what I?

couldn't. Since I live in 1 state, work contained by another and have a home business(that have yet to breed any money) the taxes were a bit complicated. In the event that I made a mistake within my favor can the IRS have me jailed? or can we a short time ago correct it and I'll reduce my return by that amount. I'm positive that regardless of any error they still owe me money for my 2007 return.

Answers:    Good idea mistakes don't result in sentence to prison time...fraud can. IRS has to prove the latter, so don't madness.

If you're not sure you're doing your taxes right, you probably ought to hire a professional for one year to get it done correctly and later (if your situation does not change drastically) use the prior year's forms to complete your own subsequent year. Ask questions when you're have the taxes done. A competent preparer will go over the forms beside you and answer all your question...likely ensure you know enough to knob them next year.

Good luck!
If you made a mistake and they find out more or less it - they will let you know. All you requirement to do after that is to rate your additional taxes and interest if any. Relax :)
