NI Contribution?
Hi, I lived and worked in the UK for almost 2 years and I own for good disappeared the UK within February 2007. Is it true that I can get hold of a discount on my NI contribution? if so how do I do it? and how can I find out whether here is a duty return due for me?
Thank you
Answers:
NI contributions are never refundable - but you would be entitled to a tiny state retirement allowance when you become 65!
You may be due a small reimbursement of income excise for the year completed 5 April 2007, but it will be small as you almost completed a full toll year here.
Go to www.hmrc.gov.uk and download a form P85. Complete this and convey it to your export tax department along next to the P45 which you should own received when you gone employment.
NI can be repaid if you over money. I assume you are not british.
this is tricky as it can depend on whether you enjoy other income from outside the US.
best bet is to look in www.hmrc.gov.uk and find the relevant contact number to ring.
