Where Does the Money Go from a flexible spending vindication?

I hold a medical flexible spending sketch through my employer.

I own a trustworthy amount deduct out of respectively settle interval and enjoy access to due free funds throughout the year to cover many medical expenses including co-pays, prescription drugs, dental work, etc...

The justification is a "use it or lose it" type piece. So my cross-question is.if you don't use it.and you cessation up losing it...where on earth does the money turn?

I really don't see how that can possible be trial as this is money that you enjoy earn. Why can't you only enjoy the excess at the call a halt of the year rolled hindmost into your money and tax at a middle-of-the-road rate?

Any thoughts?

As you suggested, it's a "use it or lose it" system. If you don't use it, the employer get to maintain it to cover the cost of administering the program. The knob is to spend it adjectives, and i.e. confident to do. If you are looking at have excess funds at the finishing of the year, look into purchasing some perscription sunglasses, or buying a 90 morning supply of meds. There are bunches of endorsed ways to sepnd down your information. The IRS even have a publication on their website that list hundreds of allowable medical expenses.

Congress have relaxed the rules rather, and employer can opt to allow you to spend your FSA sketch into the first three months of the following year, but they would enjoy have to amend their plan document for this to take place. Check near your human resources department for more information.
Your suggestion of one competent to roll any excess posterior into your pay cheque and have it tax is hugely logical. Unfortunately, that's not the channel Congress wrote the decree.
Your employer get to hold on to it. That's the mode that the statute be written.
It does appear a bit stupid. That is why they in a minute own HSAs. But if the money is forfeited the employer may hang on to their costs for the plan or divide it equally among participant (but not settlement it adjectives to the one who forfeited).

However, if you elected to wage contained by vote $200 a month and you quit your assignment, you can pocket the full annual $2400 (if you spent it) even though you with the sole purpose salaried within $1600 (through August).

As I said, seem stupid.
