A dependents interrogate?

My mom claimed me as a dependent not thinking this would matter i file a tax return for which i be entitled 309$ not knowing my mom filed me as a dependent i only just put that i was not file as a dependent when i e filed. I efile, and 2 days subsequent the irs says i be rejected because someone else filed me. So afterwards i correct the form and say that i be filed as a dependent and it say on the top i am only entitled to 9$ is this right? because that seem too low.

Answers:    without knowing your income (box1) and your federal withholding (box2) nobody can really dispense you a correct answer, they can only guess...
Depends.
Not satisfactory info.
If you made more than $3400 and had little withholding, could be right. Your mother be right to claim you IF she is supporting you and gets a better benefit than you do for claiming yourself. From your info you're NOT detached, so she was right, and you're SOL. Always pays to draw from complete information BEFORE filing.
Yes this can ensue to you because you are letting your mom claim your personal exemption. This means she get to reduce her taxable income by 3400.00 and thus diminish her tax, while you may be increasing your taxable income and thus increase your export tax. Though the offsets are not other equal. If you want, you can tell your mom you lost 300.00 so she can salvage on her taxes, and ask her for some of the money. Now if you think going on for it, she carried you for 9 months, gave birth to you and have taken care of you probably for adjectives your life. I muse that 300.00 is least you can contribute.
