Taxes - earn income credit, skipper of household?

I do not claim my two children on my taxes, my ex does and I make around 14,500. I looked-for to know could I file for earn income credit, head of household? My children live near me all yr. He hasnt see them in 6 yrs.

Answers:    Yes, on both issues. He get the exemptions and the Child Tax Credit. You get the EIC, HoH file status, and the Child & Dependent Care Credit.

(And if you did not claim those in prior years, you can amend those returns and claim them inside 3 years of the filing deadline. Depending upon the numbers, this could be a serious windfall for you.)
if you support them afterwards you shpuld be claiming them he is getting a refund of 4 + thousand dollars and it should be yours
