What you cannot do is purchase different items to be resold for a profit without charging sale tax. For this you stipulation a business resale permit from your state and would own to charge sales import tax. Selling hobby goods (crafts or cake, etc...) are OK because you paid the duty on the item when you purchased the supplies at the store before making the item to supply.
Also try services to raise money such as change wash, mowing lawns, babysitting, etc...
