Setting up a bed and breakfast?

I live on the South coast in UK. I am buying a 13 bedroom house and want to net it into a B&B does anyone know how to go almost doing this? How do I get licence, insurance pricing details etc and what sort of licences do I call for? Thanks

Answers:    Wow! That's a big property to take on. More close to a hotel than a B&B. I write a monthly column for Bed and Breakfast News, which is the magazine for the B&B industry. There are helpful articles contained by it every month.

Get yourself along to your local Business Link, fast. They'll contribute you a lot of free oblige on getting started. One of the key things contained by an establishment that size is your fire certificate. You may hold a lot of alterations to engender to bring it up to the approved standard.

Pricing depends on what you're offering, what the local going rate is and what the market will stand. If you're offering something a bit more adjectives, price accordingly. People appreciate comfort and will income for it.

Put together a business plan, even if you don't need funding. It doesn't own to be terribly sophisticated but you involve to get adjectives your thoughts in directive with what you're undertaking. Again, Business Link can facilitate.

I've worked in the hotel trade and run friends' B&B's when they're on holiday. Feel free to contact me beside other questions. If you can cope next to the work involved, it's a very rewarding business.

Good luck!
I don't know, but it sounds lovely!
