Assuming you are in India, you can choose ICICI Direct which is a completely widely used demat and share trading portal. Go to their site and read the FAQ.
People who are ardent traders however do not use ICICI but switch to Indiabulls, Motilal Oswal etc that are more trading sites than investing ones approaching ICICI.
One tip: Its deeply irregular to breed money and become rich by doing trading solely. If you hold big dreams of earn money using shares, goto Mumbai Dalal street and become an equity broker. Then you'll swot the skills of the trade and become street smart. You can't do that sitting to the front of the computer and doing trading.
try using an investment company, .. and pick their funds,.. especially if you are exotic and erudition the ropes,.. the funds will be a mix of several stocks, and will be manage by experts,.
