As a sole trader of a business, what profession title do i dispense myself on forms, ie. owner, proprietor?

To me, proprietor sounds similar to you own a property, is that right? But owner sounds silly. Any suggestions?

If it's a Proprietorship, not a Corporation, you are the Proprietor.
Nothing wrong near Owner.
Manager, Proprietor, Gen. Manager are adjectives perfect.

But me, I put Asst. Gen.Manager. In valise I can't influence no to a client, I other update them that I would refer it to the commissioner.
You would be the proprietor. You would just be a director if you get the company predetermined (this costs lb30 via companies house if you can stuff surrounded by the application forms yourself - they're not complicated)
