Quickbooks- Can I buy another individual license to be paid it multiuser?

We run Quickbooks Pro 2005 and we want to start running it as multi-user program. We solitary enjoy one license and it is loaded on a laptop and a regular desktop. I call Intuit and they rudely told me we hold to upgrade to 2007 (can't do that til the finish off of the year.) I found the 2005 Pro single license book on Amazon and my quiz is would that work? Or are we forced to buy the 3 user journal? We simply want to give a further user. Thanks so much!

Assuming the copy of QB is legal and unregistered, next yes it will work.
