My home business is taking over my house, when to procure a store front?

I need some suggestions here. I hold a vinyl graphics business and we are getting so busy that projects are taking over my house. I'd like to move into a shop, but I'm a bit scared. I enjoy 2 kids (2&3 years old) that will need a playroom here too.

Any suggestions with moving from a home business to working out of a shop? Expecially next to kids.

Answers:    I owned a 'store front' business for 15 years... didn't have kids (the 2 legged kind) - but I did enjoy the 4 legged kind. Don't sweat the small stuff. I took my kids to work everyday and they know where they be allowed to be, etc... granted yours are a bit different than mine, but I don't think anyone is going to be concerned next to your professionalism just because your children are in that. most of us have to work contained by some way or another.

When you look for a building, basically make sure that you can slice an area rotten for them (they'll need nap, etc) but not so secluded from where on earth you are working that you can't hear them. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, a short, nice, verbs partitioned area should work.

Seriously, I don't see it as a problem... some of my clients would drop surrounded by when they were surrounded by the area - only just to see the 'kids'.

The only problem near a shop is the extra overhead, insurance, etc... but if you are doing well, after hopefully the business will afford the extra expense.. GO FOR IT ...

My kids be 2 & 4 when I opened my first store. The best memories inthe world. I have a special place for napping, playing, and then have specific area within the showroom for them to play. They learned markedly quickly that when mommy be with a client they could scrutinize a movie. I saved movies for that time solitary, so it was exciting and fun. If I have to work late hours it be pizza and movies. Way better than daycare would have be. I could never have put my kids within daycare, so this was my solitary option. My clients loved watching the kids grow up and soon they be old ample to help next to small projects. Good Luck!
