Home inspectors for Hip reports?
I have just be told 'congrats' I passed my interview, and I passed the Assessment test with 97%!
Now what I necessitate to do is go back beside photo ID and my lb6,800.
Then I will work out my course dates --6 Full weeks, plenty of homework, and 5-6 monitered inspections. Then, pass the exam and sign on the panel of Home Inspectors. ( you can get your Energy Cert after module 4)
Is it going to be worth it?
Will chartered surveyors allow it to happen?
Will Gordon love or aversion me as another inspector?
Will the tories carry it all on if they procure in?
Is it worth a year of my life at 59 to train for ( they utter 10 months)
Will I ever get my money back?
Answers: I agree beside alta, but the housing market is in freefall.
All these lovely inspectors are facing ruin if the establishment decides its one expenses too many and establish to scrap them or cancel the requirement for a time to help out the housing market.
Congratulations on your pass by the mode but if it was one of those online assessment tests that you did, they will be ecstatic to take your money pass or fall short.

Ok you compensate your money (a lot), you take 6 weeks out of your life, hours of homework, and again you overrun.

Most of the decent surveyors, who achieve work from mortgage companies, have already tied up with a company, you know the "I'll scrape your back you scratch mine".
Many surveyors go on courses 2/3 yrs ago when it was all mortal mumbled about.
And then in that is the good old Vendor, who have just been shocked by the cost of house selling, have found out that if you go on line, you can do their own HIPS, and it will bring back easier to do, and cost far less.
Estate agents/surveyors are a similar breed, they don't like anybody surrounded by their inner circle.
I think you are brave to go past its sell-by date and start a new career, but within my opinion (with a bit of knowledge of that business), you may not be welcome with open arms. Maybe back you commit yourself, give some local surveyors a ring and test the hose?
