Of course. I've bought and sold dozens of houses contained by Texas short a contractor.
Now if you're conversation going on for building a house, no. I don't know of any lenders that will consent to you be your own contractor on a build.

That would depend on what type of loan your conversation almost?
If you are conversation nearly a construction loan...it is possible but closely harder. If you are conversation in the order of a regular mortgage as expected you can.
With a construction loan you will any own to be a contractor yourself. Or convince the lender that you can act this function.
Something most inhabitants don't know is that even if you hire a contractor and they don't take-home pay the sub-contractors...you still owe them for their services. Even if you rewarded the fundamental contractor.
