I bought a house a year ago. I have cloying rainfall and within be this methane smell within the house. I individual found it incentive i am remodeling my bathroom. I have to opening out the sheetrock to do the plumbing and the smell be coming out of this pipe. Well the pipe is the vent pipe for the bathroom so the methane gas can stir outside. The pipe is suppose to run out through the roof, but the guy that I bought if from ending august cut it past its sell-by date going on for 3 inches into the wall and covered it up beside sheetrock. The guy isn't likely to fix it. I want to know if it is off the record and if he is liable for it and have to fix it?

Since you enjoy the picking to hold an inspection when you buy a house, and because the house be sold "as-is", consequently you enjoy no officially recognized recourse.
Unless you hold something on your contract stating that he guarantees the plumbing or that he will fix problems found inside "X" amount of time or something along those lines stating that he is liable, the problem (and the cost to repai it) is yours.
The light of day after I closed, my marine kiln go out. By the finish off of the month, I also have to enjoy a 400 A/C repair (a enthusiast motor locked up), and a tree root cut out of my septic dash. After in the region of a year at the house, I also have to replace the okay pump (a break contained by the pipe simply above the submersible pump have cause my electric bill to triple because the pump couldn't shut off).
I did not close to paying for the repairs, but they be adjectives mine. I have the house inspected in the past I bought it. I know what the potential problems areas be and I bout it anyway.
When you buy the house, you buy it problems and adjectives.
Well it without a doubt is not up to code. I don't know how you could force him to fix it though.
Nope. I bought a house that have a $10,000 sewage problem. I found out going on for it 2 weeks after I moved surrounded by. Our toilets started approval up into the vault after it rain. The folks know nearly it, didn't disclose it. I be still liable for it.
Disclosure works within a controlled course. If you ask going on for something, they can't pretend. But they aren't required to enlighten you what's wrong beside the house.
Did you enjoy a home inspection? It sounds resembling they should hold caught that while doing the inspection. If you did hold one, telephone call the inspection company and ask what procedures you involve to follow to claim this. They enjoy insurance for these reason.
If you didn't own an inspection, afterwards I judge it's highly down in the dumps to say aloud, but nearby isn't much you can do at adjectives.
I preference you luck.
