I'm buying a REO home and it have be winterized. Why do the bank do that surrounded by Phoenix, AZ?

Also how much does it usually run to de-winterize it. Thank you!

Answers:    It let's them turn off the heat/electric and the hose. This almost guarantees that there won't be hose down damage during the time it sits disused and that they won't be paying large electric and/or heat bills.

It should cost almost nothing to de-winterize it. Turn on the heat/electric and turn on the dampen. Flush the toilets a few time and you are good to turn.

good luck!

ps - the ridge might not be local to Phoenix and might 'winterize' all REO properties.
If it winterized, it is summerized also. Your nouns conditioning will be a lot more modernized.
Don't forget, it does get cool, save fairly cold within PHX sometimes.

EDIT EDIT
OOOps! Up here in the frozen north, winterizing finances something very different from what I presently think you expect.
Sorry about that.
Up here, winterizing scheme puttying all the window, adding storm window, laying down more insulation, piling hay bales alongside the house, etc.
