I am currently living in a house that is to say purchased by my parents, the mortgage is also contained by their term.
We be thinking around transferring the ownership to me through a spur-of-the-moment creation so that I can get rid of it surrounded by 2 years if indispensable and avoid the assets gain. (They currently own another house that they may also provide in 5 years).
My grill is: do I own to refinance the house in my given name to know how to use the 2/5 year, $250K gain exclusion?
