Building a wood stick frame next to exterior stucco and stone home surrounded by Iowa?
Im enormously interested a house plan that have a wood stick frame (What the heck is that?) and and exterior of stucco and stone. Would that be impratical for a house within central/eastern Iowa? Would it approaching crack after freezing? If so what would be other similar looking option? And is stucco/stone stronger than your average bright construction house? Would it know how to support a vault?

You hold received some drastically right answers to your question.
I'll tag on that stucco is not a remarkably popular finish for different construction contained by Iowa - who know why but the moisture issue could be a factor. Cedar, vinyl, brick, & stone, along next to the current siding product that have cement and wood within it that comes contained by knees siding (check out your building supply outlets or pop in the net sites of shingle mfrs as some of these products are made by shingle manufacturers) are much more popular. Also available are half-log siding. Full log homes are a bit different in that the logs also form the frame of the house.
Basements support the houses that sit on them, not the other opening around.
All siding materials are applied after the house frame is built. They are simply a cover for the wood frame of the building. Stucco is also zilch more than a cover for the building.
Most unusual house construction within Iowa is wood framed.
Factors to consider within choosing siding include how much upholding it will want (and how much you want to do), appearance, cost (brick and stone cost a great deal more than vinyl), and any covenants & restrictions in your subdivision.
Oceanlover! It is fundamentally adjectives to be stick built, it finances it is not adjectives concrete block, the underground store is concrete block or poured foundation, after the upper level are wood frame (stick built), somewhat pun contained by the business. But enormously adjectives contained by the midwest. As for Stucco and stone diction on the front, to be exact fine as long as the contractor know what they nouns doing. Stucco except applied correctly, can and will provide a haven for moisture and when moisture linger, it creates mold. And you do not want mold surrounded by your foreign house, contained by any house. Now I'm sure if you look at the matured cattle farm house, they too are "stick built" next to stone foundations! Some conceivably even hold a wood foundation.
Do grasp that even the most hardy of products expands and contracts surrounded by weather. But Stucco again if applied correctly will be only fine.
Good Luck! If I can answer any other question, of late email me.
A stick framed house is a typical framed house made of 2x4 or 2x6 the stucco is an exterior coating on the house and have nought to due near a vault and the subterranean vault holds up the house not the house holding up the underground room. The stucco and the stone are not structural, the framing and foundation is the structural factor. Stucco homes are typical found within drier climates. But they hold abundantly of fresh products out presently that may work. Good luck
Stucco is a speedy cover and works better surrounded by some climates. he problem near stucco ( a form of Portland Cement) is that when it cracks the weather get contained by and that can smash up the wood frame over time.
Here is a quote from an article at www.yourpropertypath.com: "Moisture guidance is a top priority surrounded by a stucco installation because dampen is one of the chief culprits surrounded by plaster deterioration. It can front to rust and rot. It enter the building through cracks, through the roof, around chimneys, or through fanlight and door opening. It can bring back trailing building tabloid i.e. torn or not properly lapped at seam. Portland cement plaster is a breathable substance that does allow moisture vapor to go past through, so it is expert of drying out and does not trap moisture.
In any satchel, repair is a straightforward procedure that can bring the surface rear legs to apt condition."
