Where is a descent apartment in mountain landscape in close proximity downtown?

i am looking for an apartment practical mountain prospect downtown, 1 bedroom, no pets, don't require oodles amenities (e.g. no entail for swimming pool or tennis courts), a moment ago be safe and sound, descent size and surroundings and logically, restrained price ( < $1400). any opinion is greatly appreciated!
