Long island anyone hold an apartment? how do u pick up?

ok, im within my upper 20's and i really enjoy to move out of my parents house soon. The rents on long island are ridiculous, studio apartments alone can cost 1000. I do NOT want roomates, so whoever answers this, do not enunciate grasp a roomate.
I hold nearly $20k save. I merely kind $40k a year.
