PLANNING PERMISSION TIPS - UK base?

Does anyone hold any tips on what to ask a UK planning officer?

I hold an appointment to see a local planning officer tomorrow for push for as we've bought a plot which have no outline planning authority.

Any counsel on what to ask or how to touch this? We already own a sketch of the house we want to build which we plan to give somebody a lift near us, but relations hold told us possibly not to help yourself to this drawing as the planning officer might be upset near us going in in attendance and declare THIS IS WHAT WE WANT.

Also, the fundamental design phase to our house is a big portion windowpane, which we are afraid planning won't close to, as we are building disparate houses.
