Buying a house after a short mart?

We have to do a short mart a months ago due to a foreign living overseas. We owed more on our house than it be worth and could not afford to form up the difference. Fortunately, we be never unsettled on our payments and our lender approved our short public sale to avoid potential behind payments, etc.
We will be overseas for three years and once we return to the USA we will be settling down and want to purchase a home again.
My cross-examine is ..is it difficult to purchase a home after have to do a short Dutch auction? Will lenders be worried just about that? We will own money to put down on a house and own no plans to move after that.

Answers:
If your short mart be base on have pmi consequently your debt be forgiven, though you will hold to claim the forgiven amount as income. Forgiven debt should not affect your credit, it is a done promise. Check beside a level lend institution, not some fly-by-night company. I believe that you should be fine.

Most predictable within 3 years your credit history will be absolve of that short Dutch auction. But what can come up between in a minute and later, is the lender could put a personal judgement lien on you if they did not verbs their expenses for selling in a short mart. They would report it to the IRS as income for this year. Make sure you infer if that will come up previously you move the US. Good Luck!
