How do I find out if their is a lean on my property?

Liens are supposed to be record at the county courthouse. You could check beside them. Or ask an attorney...they know how to smoothly check on these things.
The easiest route would be to move about to a title company and hold them research it for you. If you are industrious you can try to do a title search on your own at the lecture theatre of archives.
Go to your county clerk's bureau and research their documents. Liens are a event of public diary so if your property have a lien, it should be within, if the secured entertainment have file it nonetheless.
