Answers:    Here is the website to ONT, CAN's Tenant and Landlord Act

Here is what it says almost Snow Removal:

Who is responsible for snow removal?
It is the landlord’s responsibility to make sure that the residential complex is kept surrounded by a good state of repair, fit for habitation and to comply near any health, sanctuary, housing and maintenance standards. Failure to clear the snow may be a breach of municipal sanctuary, housing or maintenance standards. These standards collectively set out that it is the owner’s responsibility to make sure that the property can be soundly entered and exited. The Act does not business deal with this issue. It would be up to a Member to wish whose responsibility snow removal is, based on the circumstances presented surrounded by the specific application that is file.

In the case of a mobile home park or estate lease community, however, the Act states that the landlord must remove snow from the roadways.

- Please minute that no where within the Act does it define how plentiful units explain a complex.

If when you say"triplex" the units are adjectives side by side with their own entrances and driveways consequently it would be the same as renting a single relations home. Each tenant then would be responsible for their own shoveling. If the triple contains 3 apartments inwardly the same building and adjectives the tenants use matching parking "lot" then it would be considered a complex beside the landlord responsible for shoveling.

There may be provisions in your lease agreement as to who does the shoveling. If you signed an agreement that specifically states that the tenants are responsible for the shoveling next read the following act at:

http://www.ltb.gov.on.ca/graphics/116732...

The Intention of the Legislation
The intention at the back sections 20, 29 and 30 is to net landlords responsible for maintaining their complexes, and not to restrict their obligations by transferring them by agreement to the tenant. If a tenant agreed surrounded by a lease to assume the responsibility to maintain any cut of the unit or complex, beyond regular cleanliness and damage, this would not be enforceable.2 The statute should be interpreted surrounded by a way which encourage the best maintained complexes and unit

The landlord could ideally hire and wages one of the tenants to be resonsible for shovelling. The tenant is afterwards a paid member of staff who does it for wages.

These acts should clearly show whose responsiblilty the snow removal is - the hotelier - proving that the triplex is contained in one building.

This I believe answers your cross-examine according to the Ontario Tenant and Landlord Act.

Good Luck.
