Renting an apartment?

This is my 1st time renting an apartment and I'm wondering what big-hearted of processes I inevitability to walk through? I own two other roomates and they told me that we own to sign the contract TOGETHER within charge to rent a house/apt, is that true? Because I will be on a trip the date they sign the contract and I'm afraid that I own to nullify my trip (and I don't want to)...Can they sign the contract w/o me (or possibly I can sign it later)? Thanks!!

Answers:
Sign the contract since OR you can ask the LL to allow you to sign it when you come vertebrae OR hold him fax it to you on your trip and return it. Most landlords will want everyone to sign the lease.
Generally you can sign it after that, but you can probably sign it formerly you progress also. Talk to the manager and update him / her in the region of your upcoming trip. I am sure something can be worked out.
Talk to the proprietor and see if you can sign latter. Just spawn sure it is clear to the innkeeper that you are to be included on the lease. If not you will hold no legitimate standing when/if problems arise.
You dont own to be in attendance, you can sign whenever. You dont hold to sign at adjectives if you dont want on the leas, which will prolly be a devout belief as living w/ friends other ends disappointingly and you'll prolly finale up breaking lease anyway.
You will hold to sign the lease yourself but you should know how to fashion arrangements to sign around your trip. Don't quash, newly ask them what they want you to do because you will be out of town. Read your lease awfully sensibly in the past you sign it so ask for a copy up front, transport it home because it is serious business. If one of your roomates leaves, near or short your go-ahead, you become liable for his rent and any damages/or other charges. The lease may or may not allow you to enjoy another soul move within. You have need of to find out. You also entail to find out what happen to the deposit if one moves out. You are collectively liable and if you carry screwed by a roommate, civil court is your ownly course of handling to verbs losses. Be really measured who you trust when you sign lease. Too masses race are screwed by their "friends" when things evolve and they hold to salary the price. Management is not your friend-they enjoy a career to do-and they will not salvage your bacon if anything happen. A lease is a binding contract.
