No lease. Landlord wishes money?

Ok. I be living in a sublet for a month and a week, no lease. But, I rewarded 2 full months rent. I call the manager when I be departure, so I give him 30 days spy. He didn't read out anything, he told me he be going to call for me put money on. But he didn't, and I tried to beckon him again.

I in recent times forgot nearly it. And afterwards today he call, say that he couldn't find anyone to rent for August, so he requests me to convey him a check. First of adjectives, he did not notify me he be looking for someone, if not I would hold made sure I found a topical human being. And later he call me out of the blue demanding money.

It be a short residence agreement. I even asked him if he looked-for me to sign a lease, and he said no.

What to do? I grain horrible just about it, but, again, he didn't want me to sign a lease, and he did not beckon me for over a month recitation me his intentions. So, I have no impression this be on my shoulders.

So this is a sublet - ie he have a lease beside someone else but zilch signed next to you. Not sure on this one becuase this beinng a sublet he have something signed by the inspired renter, but not by you. I guess (since you apparently signed nothing) he have no recourse againist you. He might own some recourse againist the productive renter but I even doubt that (essentially he took you on to replace the innovative renter thereby making the artistic lease no longer valid - but since he never signed anything beside you, you are not bound by that lease).
