Escrow give somebody the third degree re shortage of HOA fees withheld.?

I closed escrow within May 2007 and in a minute the Escrow company say I owe approx. $3,000 within special HOA assessments that I did not discharge prior to escrow or through escrow. Escrow Co. never received an updated payoff statement re HOA fees from the Management Company of the condo I sold. I believe I own compensated adjectives fees owed. However, if they can show that a mistake be made and the amount be NOT collected from me, am I rightfully obligated to rate? This is contained by Los angeles, California. Thanks!

If they find a mistake, next yes you are rightfully required to take-home pay. Hopefully you preserve obedient store of what you did pay cheque.
