Question more or less this loan??
So I applied for a personal loan and was contacted by Oakwood Lending, saying I get approved with a 6% interest rate, and payments at 134 a month... well he said they work through private lenders. He asks for $930 up front for the first 4 months (kind of similar to a "down payment" or security deposit).. He will fax a credit agreement... What do you all presume??
Answers: Do not do this! I have had several populace report that they were scammed by this type of deal. Think roughly it, if they are going to risk loaning you money why would they ask for money up front?? Many of these companies are set up outside the US and you will have no recourse.
SCAM.
Legit lenders never require a fee upfront. They would any take it from the loan proceeds or add it to your monthly allowance.
My guess is that you are dealing with a scammer in West Africa using a pattern based email address (Yahoo!, gmail, Hotmail, etc.).
Do not send the money and take no notice of any future emails from them or any other "Private Lenders". They are all scammers.
