Answers: They have hit you with Bank charges and fees.
Recently at hand has been a court skin and the judgement was the fees were disproportionate I in consequence suggest you copy a template letter on the site site below (its free) and send it to your dune saying that and ask for a refund.
I should append the matter will no doubt be appealed by the bank and go on and on but your case is a classic example of why they are excessive.
It does not cost them lb30 to print a letter and send it out.
Firstly the Test travel case mentioned above hasn't proved that charges are too high it was basically part of the case. People are jump to conclusions and not looking into it properly.
About this dept I'd look through your statements first to make sure that there is no fraud on your description as lb390 is huge amount of charges unless by few months you meant 1-2 years but surely the bank would enjoy let you know?
Anyway call the edge and see if its just charges because its more that likely that they will remove them as it be only lb1.19 Dont just adopt what the first person says if they vote no as you may need to write to them or possibly speak to a manager. Make sure that they are listen to you and not messing around on the other side.
I'd write off the charges if this was a grip I was looking at if it was newly charges and not due to fraud.
No, a new ruling which came into affect yesterday said that relations can no longer be charged ridiculous amounts for going over the overdraft limit as it does not cost the banks that much. So write to your ridge telling them that you're not paying, and ask for a refun (if you have already remunerated it) in addition to any other charges which you enjoy occured since having your account. This untried ruling is going to costs banks lb20bn as customers will be writing to them demanding a refund for the excessive charges which they enjoy had to pay for going over their overdraft, near the bank having to oblige.
Go to www.moneysavingexpert.co.uk look on nearby for help and the template letter to transport to your bank.
Hope that helps.
ok, i used to work at a wall and honestly, it all depends on what they charge when you overdraw your account. close to, here in america, some banks don't charge more than 10.00, but some charge 30.00 per transaction when you draw from in the negatives. also, if it be overdrawn for a few months, then it sounds like they charge you a allowance for every day that it's overdrawn. you have to suppose about maintenance fees and overseas fees too. in a minute, in my personal opinion, a wall shouldn't charge you a fee for only going over the little amount that you did. that's freshly ridiculous to have to pay 390.00 for a 1.19 mistake. i wouldn't payment it either, i would go agree to the branch manager and explain what happened and explain to him that you'll pay the lousy 1.19 and be on your way. sometimes they're vastly understanding and are willing to waive adjectives fees and overdraft charges. it's worth a shot. if that doesn't work, then yea, don't pay anything and a moment ago ignore it and after a month or two, your account will walk into a charge off state, however, your credit will be at risk when that happens. you're still too babyish to mess up your credit. just go confer to someone first, then take it from here. ok? good luck. As you are only 18, you don't want to blot your credit rating for the adjectives. Speak to your bank first and ask for an explanation of the charges. They may withdraw it in need further action. If they don't, speak to someone at the Citizen's Advice Bureau. Ask for advice as to what to do. The OF are presently investigating mound charges and they may come down on the banks.
Whatever you do, do not ignore this 'debt'. It may verbs piling up and will be on your records. The lb390 seems completely out of proportion to the untested overdraft and some one at the bank may see sense even if computers don't.
Hi at the moment there's lots going on with guard charges .
So write to them and ask them to justify what they are saying you owe them .
And that you want a full breakdown of it adjectives .
You may be surprised to find that charges will suddenly disappear.
