If you won the million dollar jack pot.. what is the first article you would buy?
Answers: I would buy land and a home to be built on it, then a vehicle...nought to grand. Then the rest would be invested of course using a biddable investment broker so that I may live off the interest. I would also include accounts for my kids to have for college and abet them get established as young adults...but they won't achieve anything else until I am gone, they need to learn how to oversee life without the money, I know of too several situation where the kids were other just given what they wanted and after at some point the money runs out and they don't have any financial managment skills and can't relate when they need to.
A million would travel a long way for me.
I would buy an $800,000 house and furnish it for another 75k. I would take the remaining 125K and put it contained by an annuity that pays interest yearly. That yearly fee would reimburse my housing expenses like electric, oil, gas, taxes, insurance, etc. A financial planner and advocate..Then I would pay off my sports car and other small debts.Then lose any worries I have about paying for my college instruction and my child's future college education. I wouldn't buy much..Maybe a bigger house, but thats it.
I've struggled too long to be extravagant.
An energy efficient 6 bedroom house near plenty of bathrooms(thats a prob around my house now) and it will have to have a big backyard for BBQ's and a pool! a nice place within the country with one house for me and one for my parents with a small cottage or loft for my 2 brothers who are bachelors and probably other will be.
my freedom from financial burden. I'll keep my windfall in the guard while I seek expert advice on investment option. I'll made sure I'll live comfortably for the rest of my life. I would get an attorney, wage my bills, buy a nice home and car, and then step back to work. A million dollars doesn't go far at the moment.
a passport& a one way ticket to a smart land where on earth war & violence are not tolerated. An average house next to enough solar panels to trade name a living off of from pumping it back into the grid. :)
