How do I protect my inheritance from bill collectors?

I am two years past due on my credit cards. I will be receiving an inheitance surrounded by the next year. I need to protect these funds from a lawsuit.

Answers:    First of adjectives, why not payoff the debt? It will only keep adding together up. The only way to save it from them would to open an account within someone else's name(someone who you truly trust). If you have an account surrounded by your name they can freeze the account if they find it . They hold a right to demand to see all your financial documentation, bank accounts,and assets to collect their money. Good luck. It would be easier to just salary it...
You already spent the money. You owe it. Getting an inheritance simply means you have the funds to reward it.

Doing as the other post suggests, hiding the money, is fraud.
