Credit Card Question?

I am kind of a newbie dealing with these credit cards. The interest rate for my one and one and only credit card is 16.00%. I'm not sure what my credit score is, but it doest hurt to apply. I was wondering if its a well-mannered idea to apply for card with a lower interest rate to wage off the first card with the difficult interest rate.

Answers:    Always negotiate. I've called cards and told them I was going to alteration to another with a lower interest rate unless they could offer me a lower APR. It worked a couple times and a couple times I switched. 16% is big.

Always read the small print concerning annual fees and default rates if you're late once.
