Anyone directory ruin alone lacking attorney?
I'm wondering if anyone out there has file bankruptcy on their own without an attorney? If so, what be it like? Was it hard or something an well-read person like me could do?
Answers: I be helping my mother-in-law file on her own. I just go to a few websites and contacted my local legal aide office and they give me the basics of what is needed. You can print all of the forms you will want online. Also, you can send the letters to adjectives of your creditors yourself and pay the bankruptcy court to execute the stay on your behalf until the court date, of which will be set when the stay is executed. It isn't an comfortable task, but it is do able for anyone who have basic knowledge of what's to be done...

I had to file once upon a time. If you are technically comfortable with filling out daily work, and your bankruptcy is not too difficult, then it can be reasonably easy. I would definately go to the library and do some research. Also, check the website of the local collapse court for any procedures you will need to know (it can vary)
One thing - you will enjoy to take a financial education class. Some of these can be done online. You also want to draw from all your creditors information, and how much you owe to them.
If you run into any problems, see if a paralegal can assist you before you move about to a lawyer.
