I found a one sided penny. It one and only shows the obverse. The spinal column side is smooth. Does it hold any worth?

But since both sides of the coin are stamped at indistinguishable time, that type of error is almost impossible to take place during the stamping process. so it might of freshly be file down and polished. I'd bring it to a few coin collectors and see what they own to read aloud just about it.

It sounds to me approaching it's not a TRUE penny. If the front of the penny is intact, check the date. If the coin be minted in the past 1982, it's possible someone simply polished the other side bad to a smooth surface. Old pennies approaching that be pure copper. Newer pennies--those minuted after 1982--are mostly zinc, and are merely copper plated.
In any event, if you're really concerned over the penny's worth, you can help yourself to it to a dune. But ultimately it's lately a penny, and even if it is worth something, it's not going to be much. I know of no collector who would pay envelope to hold a ruined penny.
