I hold $20,000 Invested within a 401K plan beside a company I own just now resigned from. What shld I do w/ it immediately?

Answers:
dance to a broker similar to edward jones and roll the 401k over into one of in attendance plentiful plans!
ask to steal it private...
Is it portable at this point or are you asking what funds to invest in?
Roll it over into an IRA. The HR department should offer you paperwork to do this. When I rolled mine over, I in recent times call the company who handle the 401 and asked to roll it over. They took aid of everything.

Whatever you do, don't pocket a cashout. You'll enjoy to repay income taxes on it plus a 10% hasty withdrawl cost.
Resist the bribery to withdrawl rash. The penalty are not worth it. You could hold it within the previous companys plan until you find another opening that will allow you to roll over into their plan. I reckon thats what I would do. But the power of compound interest is on your side near that sum. CHECK TO SEE IF YOU ARE FULLY VESTED IN THE PLAN, formerly you net any decision.
