Depositing a check?

I hold check written out to me, I hold never have to deposit anything into my explanation myself , so do I obligation to sign the backbone of the check and convey it along beside the deposit slip?

ms k you own the correct answer!
Yup, I customarily dance into the hill and merely mitt the deposit slip and the check to a bank clerk. I dont as a rule sign the stern if its self deposited, but some bank insist on it .
Normally you don't enjoy to sign the check if you're a moment ago depositing it. In reality, if you're mail it, you may want to write on the put money on "for deposit only" so that if it's intercepted, it won't own your signature on it. Most bank own a stamp that states "for deposit only" so that you do not enjoy to sign the pay for. You may want to check beside your wall though, as it may own different rules.
One safe and sound means of access is to write on the pay for of the check-

Pay to the Bank of XXXXX
For Deposit Only
