Please! I NEED YOUR IMPUT!?
ok, so my invention is a pillow with a pocket on it for a ice pack to sort your pillow cold, or a heating pad to construct your pillow warm. it also has zipper compartments for over dark gear, and a small one for a music player. if you would buy it, how much would you pay for it?
(ice pack and heating wad included)
thanx!
no bateries. the music does not come through the speakers and the cool and hot effects are items you put into a pouch. you plug in the heating wad. and you put your earbuds in.
Answers: I do some product placement and marketing consulting for small businesses and generally what I report to them is determine what your break-even cost is for the product and price to make some profit. The whole common sense you are in business is to make somewhat money...right?
You can go to http://www.gain.org/template_gallery.ht... to download the break-even analysis.
You have to input your fixed and variable costs. Your fixed costs would be adjectives the costs that stay constant regardless of the number of pillows your produce. Your variable costs would be those costs that are directly correlated with producing respectively pillow (i.e. cost of materials, hourly labor, etc...)
It sounds like you've got a pillow brimming with with a punch! I prefer a nice soft and fluffy pillow to lay my head upon. I wouldn't want to rouse up the next morning with a zipper print on my obverse! Ha! The pocket sounds safe enough. I'm not sure who would buy such a pillow though? You might try giving away some to your friends or co-workers, to see what helpful of feedback you'd receive before trying to sell them. And perchance that would give you a better idea on what to charge, if any.
Good Luck on your invention!
Josie
