Answers: You're probaly not being scammed. I'll describe you what is happening.
When someone enters their maximum bid, ebay will automatially bid for them up to their maximum amount. For example if an item is at $1.00 and I bid $100.00 on the item, the increment that MY bid will show will probably singular take the item up to $2.00. So if YOU bid $3.00 on the item, eBay will automatically bid $4.00 for me (and all the passageway up to $100.00).
So in your case, it seem like you are bidding against people who enjoy put in a "higher maximum" bid and everytime you bid, eBay is automatically increasing their bid to be superior than yours.
I hope I explained that in an easy to undestand process.
It's not a scam. eBay works by placing a maximum bid, the max amount of money you want to pay for the item. Until you have placed a superior maximum bid than someone else bidding for the item, you won't be the highest bidder.
Someone has simply put surrounded by a higher maximum bid, and you'll keep one outbid until you bid an amount higher than his/her's max. On ebay, it is possible to wager above the minimum bid. When people do this, individual the minimum bid appears on screen but they really have bid sophisticated. This said, you have most likely bidding above their minimum, but it is not adequate to eclipse their maximum bid.
I don't think you are getting scammed, but what you are explaining sounds like someone's max bid is above yours
Hope this help
Good Luck
All that means is that someone else has a bid within where the maximum they will pay is high than your bid. The computer gets them the lowest bid possible.
So if bidding starts at $5, they may bid $25 maximum.
Computer sets them at $5
You come in and bid $8
Because their max is difficult, the computer ups their bid to $9.
You bid $12
Theirs is still higher so the computer again ups their bid to $13.
You're not being scammed, Its the bearing Ebay works.
For example something is at 99p and you put in the first bid but you decide that you would be lively to pay lb10 for the item so you might put in an propose of lb10. But if no one else bids then you will acquire the item for 99p. So what is happening is someone has put a giant offer on the item that you want and your offer hasn't reach theirs yet.
Hope this makes sense.
what heppened is someone bid difficult as thei maximum bid. and you havent reached that amount yet. IE I bid $5.00 as my maximum bid. the item s at $2.00. you bid $3.00 and later it will give you that message letting you know that I have offered more for my maximum bid.
If you put within $10.00 dolars on a $5.00 item the price would remain at $5.00 unitle someone else bids. If you bid $6.00 then the price of the item would then be $6.00 untile you out bid the $10.00 dollar bid. you see?
Go to the aid tab and click on learn how bidding works.
Basically they have a set a high bid than you.
so lets say the current price for an item is $1.50 and the character that holds that bid has a max bid of $10.00. This means that Ebay will automatically bid up to that $10.00
So if you come and bid $5.00 Ebay will automatically outbid you because that first creature had a higher max bid than you.
this is usual
it means that another bidder has set a highly developed amount than you that he is willing to bid
Lets say that his evident bid is 10 (and his invisible bid that he is willing to go to is 15). Now you bid 11 so his bid go to 12. Now you bid 13 and his goes to 14. Now you go to 15 and he will win because he bid 15 back you. BUT, if you bid 16, you will win.
no, here is how it works
If the current bid is $5, I can place a bit for $25, but it will only actuall officially bid $6. as soon as someone bids $6.50, mybid automatically go to $7...alll the way up to my maximum of $25...so it looks like I am sitting in that watching my bid all the time when I am not.
Bid the MAX you are will to pay for an item. Ebay will with the sole purpose post the next bid... that keeps you contained by the bidding thru you maximum bid.
No, it's not a scam. You have really been outbid by another potential buyer. If you bid 20.00 on an item and the current bid is 99 cents, later the same thing will evolve to the next person. They will be getting equal screens you are now. And they will preserve on getting them until they reach 20.50 or 21.00 dollars, which will then outbid your 20 bucks. Someone have put in the highest they will budge and everytime you bid it raises their bid to beat yours and will until you bid over what they own as their highest bid.
the guy that put a bid before you, bid a soaring amount, so you are not beating his bid, thus your bid is lower than his or hers. Some people set up an autobid which let them automatically bid up to a certain amount.
Someone has probably set it to bid up to a absolute amount. Until you bid more than that amount it'll keep saying that
