Bill collector calling my livelihood.?
I have a bill collector call for my assignment. I requested they not hail as me at work and disconnected the nickname. They proceeded to ring stern several times after that (3x surrounded by 10 minutes). Don't I hold some rights? Also, they are a debt purchasing agency that my debt be sold to. What can I do?

Pay your bills.
The subsequent time, enjoy your employer state.
"do not christen Mr. Doe at this number". Get their name/number and report them.
take the telephone subsequent time and procure as much information as you can. Get the number to phone call them rear, their describe, their supervisors nickname, the first name of the company etc...Be polite and consent to them know you are going to discharge.
Then report their *** for unlawfully calling you at work!
Last time that happen to me (ages ago) I get the decree that states no collectors are to phone the debtor's employment. I consequently typed a communication proverb that the collectors are within defiance of the decree (quoted the law) and are liable for civil damages from (and put in the company's name) for which I own to testify surrounded by their behalf contained by conjunction beside the phone recordings. I mail them this memo and they never call again and the debt lapsed into vacuum.
The federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1692 and following) bar collectors from calling you at work, harassing you, using offensive poetry, making false or misleading statements, calculation unauthorized charges, and plentiful other practices. Under the FDCPA, you can constraint that the collection agency stop contacting you (except to give an account you that collection pains hold terminated or that the creditor or collection agency will sue you). You must put your request surrounded by writing.
